Wildflowers, Walking &
Ancient Sites in Menorca |
12/19 October ‘07 |
With Richard Hobbs & Sally
Ward - From Stansted airport
If you feel you can’t cope with hilly walks any more but love the Mediterranean this may be what you are looking for. A short flight from the UK takes us to this beautiful and unspoilt island. It is a relaxing spot for walks by the sea and further inland looking for autumn bulbs and colourful autumn fruits amongst some of the prehistoric sites such as taulas and navetas that abound here. There are still pretty fishing villages, gently rolling hills and dales, fields and meadows and a spectacular coastline which is part of a Natural Park.

Peljesac Peninsula of Croatia |
4th - 11th May |
With Richard Hobbs & Sally
Ward - From Norwich airport
In response to the recent popularity of our holidays to Croatia we have discovered a new destination in this beautiful country. This time we explore the Peljesac Peninsula where we find the same mix of exquisite coastal scenery, fishing villages and boat trips. This is a good place to eat some delicious sea food still at a reasonable price. We walk to old monasteries and pretty villages amongst the spectacular limestone countryside and look for butterflies and pretty wild flowers such as rock roses and irises. Our lovely, recently renovated hotel is well aware of the importance of eco-tourism. |

Wildflowers & Walking in Slovenia |
3rd - 10th June |
With Richard Hobbs & Sally Ward - From Stansted Airport
A lovely, largely rural and very unspoilt country with its dramatic mountains and serene lakes. We are based around the little village and lake of Bohini in the Triglav National Park which is less well known than Lake Bled. We have easy access to alpine flowers and there will still be some melting snow patches where we find gentians, the Julian poppy and the Zois bellflower together with hellebores, lilies and orchids. We have access to many walks straight from our hotel and we visit some traditional villages nearby with their stone bridges, churches and typical Alpine style houses. |

Autumn in Brittany - The Emerald Coast |
22nd - 28th September |
With Richard Hobbs & Sally Ward - From Stansted Airport
It will be possible to travel by train or ferry so please ask us for the price at the time of booking.
It is the grassy clifftops and lush fields that give this beautiful stretch of coastline its poetic name and sometimes even the sea takes on a luminous greenish hue – more jade or turquoise than emerald. The coastline is undeniably picturesque with jagged edges cutting into the Channel in a series of rocky headlands deeply cut by sandy bays and estuaries. As well as walking along the coastal path we also explore further inland around some historic villages and we are based in medieval Dinan. Small boats, tidal mills, chateaux and churches together with some delicious Breton food make this a holiday with a difference. |

The Island of Lanzarote |
9th - 16th October |
With Richard Hobbs & Sally Ward - From Norwich Airport
This is one of the lesser well-known Canary Islands and it is quite extraordinary and visually very striking. The entire island has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and is quite unlike anywhere else. Here, small is beautiful and tourism is on a small scale compared to its better known neighbours of Tenereife and Gran Canaria. The villages and countryside are a surprising mass of colour. We are based in Yaiza which is a pretty village in a stunning rural location with white painted houses and a profusion of flowers and the National Park of Timanfaya is nearby. We explore the dramatic coastline with its unpolluted azure seas; look over the many dormant volcanoes and ash fields and walk past fertile vineyards and vegetable plots. |
